I made this zine from 2015-2016 about my experience working at a box hardware store’s garden center. I was 23 years old and treated by the male customers (and some coworkers) as if I, myself, were there as a piece of inventory, much like the plants I was tasked to take care of. "Live Goods” was stamped on the sides of the boxes of plants I opened each day. I often spent my lunch break hunched under the palm leaves, hidden behind rose bushes, or in my car. To cope with the dehumanizing gazes I would journal and draw, in hopes I could make it thru the day without giving in to my fear and anger. These pages are a selection of the sketches, notes, and feelings from that time.

This zine has been out of print for ~6 years, but I found a small batch of them in storage. I don’t think I will ever print them again, as I feel very disconnected from the experience 10 years later. So these few copies are very likely the last I will sell.

Printed on heavy weight smooth paper, staple bound. Black and white printing. 20 pages excluding the covers. 11 folded sheets. Standard 8.5x11” folded in half.

please note, these have been on a shelf for ~6 years. Paper may have some creases or small tears.
